A Day in the Life of Stephen and Amelia at the Mission ProjectWelcome to the Mission Project – Online!
Welcome to the Mission Project’s Website – The Mission Project is about supporting individuals with cognitive and other developmental disabilities in their quest to live independent, fulfilling lives in their community.
If you are wondering what the future holds for your son or daughter with developmental or cognitive disabilities (including Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorders and brain injury), The Mission Project may have some answers for you. Our Participants enjoy apartment-based living with minimal support, socialize with friends, hold jobs, take classes - in short, they live full, active lives. Look us over here online FAQ's.
Participants rent their own apartments just like other residents and work and volunteer in the KC Metro. "By providing transportation to jobs and recreational events, access to continuing education and fitness facilities like the Sylvester Powell Community Center, we enhance the quality of life experienced by our participants." "Our young adults rely on The Mission Project for the supports that allow them to participate in the life of the community," says Steering Committee President Bob Randall." You can help, make a donation, or get involved and volunteer!
